Aggie Seabotix

There are two tasks we are concered with for MATE competition: Measuring depth, and measuring the temperature of venting fluid on the sea floor.

To measure depth, we are going to calculate it in software from a depth measurement.

To measure temperature, we have designed a hard mounted receptacle that fits over the fluid vent. The PVC constructed receptacle houses a temperature probe. This setup ensures that every temperature measurement is made at the same location every time, thereby increasing the precision of the measurements.

As the Special Tools- Sensors Team, our mission is to develope an effective housing of a temperature probe for our ROV.
